Gardening Club

Our award winning Gardening club runs on a Thursday from 3.20pm – 4.30pm for Y1 – Y6.

It began in May 2016 with the school winning the Silver Guilt award from the School Gardening Bristol in Bloom competition in the July.  It is now running all year long, rain or shine.

During terms 1 & 2 the children get to harvest the crops (that have survived the summer holiday), prepare the growing plots for the winter plus indoor growing and craft activities. After Christmas, terms 3 & 4 mean lots of planting seeds, which germinate in our recycled plastic bottle greenhouse, planning our planting and preparing the growing plots for our seedlings. Finally, the Summer term (terms 5&6) is all about tending to our growing crops, preparing the plants and crafts we will sell on our stall at the Summer Fayre, and (hopefully) eating strawberries!
