May 2015 - Year 6 Mock Elections

6th May 2015

On Wednesday 6th May, year 6 held their own mock elections in the New hall.
The year group worked in small groups to create their own political party, a logo, and a manifesto to explain their policies for a better Britain.
They then wrote a speech to be given by the candidate in their group. We listened, spellbound to fifteen candidates give impassioned speeches as to why we should vote for them and their policies.
Finally each person had their own ballot paper and a secret ballot was held

After all the votes had been counted, Jake had gained 20 votes (not enough for a majority) so he will be ably supported by Kieran who gained 11 votes.

Well done to all year 6, who worked really hard to support their candidates.
