Robinson House Visits
Terms 1 & 2

During terms 1 and 2 the children chose to build our link with the residents and staff at some local care homes. The councillors from KS2 kindly volunteered to deliver the gifts donated during the shoebox appeal to the residents of Robinson House. After everyone had been given their Christmas gifts we sang some Christmas songs together. This was an extremely heart warming experience for everyone and I was so proud of the children for their kindness and compassion
Christmas 2019

The School Council were delighted to visit the residents of Robinson House this Christmas. The children delivered the gifts that were so kindly donated as part of the Shoebox appeal and also brought such joy by singing Christmas carols and chatting with the residents and staff.
KS1 at Bluebell Gardens

On a separate occasion the School Councillors from KS1 enjoyed a festive visit to Bluebell Gardens. They sang a medley of Christmas songs beautifully, spent time chatting with the lovely residents and were even treated to a few gifts from Father Christmas himself!
Summer Afternoon Tea

Last summer the school councillors organised an afternoon tea party to say thank you to all the adults who volunteered at Waycroft Academy throughout the year. We had a wonderful time enjoying treats and playing games.
Lunchtime Play Equipment

During our school council meetings the children discussed the kinds of play equipment they would like to buy to use at lunchtimes, remembering to contribute ideas that had been suggested at recent class council meetings. They invited Mr Ryan, one of our play leaders, to a meeting to talk through their 'wish list' and helped him to devise a list of the most popular items.

The School Council team then proudly presented the new equipment to the rest of the school during assemblies and clearly explained how to use the equipment and also how to look after it.
