General Year 3 Information
Year 3 have P.E. lessons on a Monday and Friday, therefore pupils can wear their P.E. kits to school on these days.
Formal homework is set each week. An English or mathematics homework is given out on Friday and must be handed in by the following Wednesday. Extension activities are always available. Children are expected to read at least 3 times per week but ideally daily and practise their times tables as often as possible. Spellings are learned at home in preparation for the test every other Friday. Topic and research homework will be set as an alternative occasionally.
How can I help my child at home?
Listening to your child read at home as often as possible continues to be essential to their progress. Children can borrow books from the class library or from the school library. Please continue to practise spellings and times tables on a weekly basis.
