Learning through play is at the heart of our approach to teaching and learning in the Early Years. Children learn best from activities and experiences that interest and inspire them, and we aim to provide children with stimulating, active play experiences through which they can explore and develop their learning to help them make sense of the world.
As parents, you are your child’s first educators. Your child is already an experienced learner, bringing from home a great deal of knowledge about themselves and their world. We hope to be able to work in partnership with you to build on, and extend your child’s developing skills, interests and experiences.
Knowing how your child is getting on
In nursery we use ILD (interactive learning diary) to capture and record the observations made as children explore and learn. By the end of Term 1, a secure access to the Parent Portal will allow you to view your child’s progress at any time. This will enable you to become fully involved in your child’s learning and development through active participation.
